Shades of Horatio’s Past
Trace the roots of Horatio and team only on CSI: Miami Season 8 on AXN!

Singapore, 16 July 2010 – After seven seasons and more than 160 episodes of gripping drama, CSI: Miami’s show creators will finally do the great reveal on how it all began. 1997 is the year and the CSIs will be transported back to the time when they first began working together. Travel back in time with AXN this August 4th to view the never-before-seen flashback of Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and his team of crime scene investigators!

Season 8’s premiere will also answer a question fans are dying to know - how did Horatio get his infamous sunglasses? No other prop or costume in the CSI franchise has had an eight season long presence and a backstory written just for it! Regressing 12 years in time also means that the cast has to appear 12 years younger, which is no easy feat indeed. Brought in to work their magic just for the season premiere is the talented special effects makeup team that took Brad Pitt in Benjamin Button through time! Who knows, Horatio in his younger days might even remind you of a certain NYPD Blue detective named John Kelly! The time warp in the season opener also reunites the CSI: Miami team with familiar favorites including Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander), Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane) and Lt. Megan Donner (Kim Delaney).

The high strung season opener had US premiere ratings leaping to the top of the ratings charts in its timeslot, especially with Eric Delko’s (Adam Rodriguez) life hanging in the balance. Delko had been critically wounded in the Season 7 finale from a mistaken gunshot by fellow CSI Calleigh Dusquesne (Emily Procter). Finally found in the Everglades after a desperate search by Caine and his team, things are still not looking good for Delko as he slips into a coma after being rushed into surgery.

Two new faces also bring fresh dynamics to the CSI: Miami cast. While Omar Miller (Eleventh Hour) certainly brings a different perspective and expertise to the team as Walter Simmons, a Louisiana native and art theft specialist, it is the addition of Eddie Cibrian (Third Watch) that deserves an eyebrow raise. He joins the cast as Jesse Cardoza, a new officer transferred from the Hollywood division under difficult circumstances and whose past continues to haunt him. Things will certainly not be slow with Jesse in the mix, with him being taken hostage by a masked man on his first day in the crime lab! Other notable guest stars include Cheryl Ladd (Charlie’s Angels) and Los Angeles Laker Pau Gasol. William Forsythe (Halloween), Malcolm Mcdowell (Heroes) and Michael Madsen (Kill Bill) also appear in an episode directed by popular filmmaker Rob Zombie (Halloween II).

While grappling with halved corpses, murders in outer space and a groom missing after a night of bachelor party debauchery (à la The Hangover), Horatio will soon encounter more than he can handle this season. Delko’s surprise move to the defense team, his son Kyle (Evan Ellingson) returning from war and getting embroiled in a murder investigation, as well as the death of an ex-girlfriend suspected to be an inside job, will all add on to the worldly burden that the hunched CSI chief already carries. Trace the journey of Horatio and his team on AXN this August, back to the roots of every hero’s beginning!
