"I feel very proud of my fellow Indonesians"

JAKARTA, 19 March 2015 - Indonesian icon, platinum-selling international recording artist and UN Goodwill Ambassador, Anggun was back in Jakarta today to share her experience as a celebrity judge on the region's most anticipated show, "Asia's Got Talent".

Airing first on AXN in its regular Thursday 7.30pm (WIB) slot, "Asia's Got Talent" is the biggest talent competition in the world featuring some of the region's most breathtaking, jaw-dropping and mind-blowing performing artists competing for the coveted winning title.

Anggun, the World Music Awards winner for 'World's Best-Selling Indonesian Artist' is joined by 16 time Grammy-winning Canadian musician David Foster; UK pop sensation and Spice Girl Melanie C; as well as Taiwanese-American pop idol and actor Van Ness Wu on the "Asia's Got Talent" celebrity judging panel. No stranger to talent search shows, Anggun previously judged "X-Factor Indonesia" and "Indonesia's Got Talent".

"I believe that there are many talents in Asia that are yet to be discovered and they deserve a fantastic platform like 'Asia's Got Talent' to showcase their abilities to the world. With so many 'Got Talent' shows globally, I see it as natural progression that we get 'Asia's Got Talent'. I am extremely honored to be invited by AXN to judge the show because I'm a huge fan and I truly believe in it. I would be thrilled to play a part in, as well as witness, the making of Asia's next big star," said Anggun.

Out of a total of 199 acts from 15 territories across the region featuring in "Asia's Got Talent', 26 are Indonesian. Anggun explained, "I'm from Indonesia and I feel immense pride whenever an Indonesian act comes up on stage. I always cross my fingers for my fellow Indonesians as I wish for them to do well and to show the world what we can do. 'Asia's Got Talent' serves as a great reminder that as much as it is about talent and entertainment, it is also about national pride."

Each act competing in "Asia's Got Talent" will have to receive at least three "Yeses" from the judging panel. Viewers can watch out for the glittering "Golden Buzzer moments", where each judge has one opportunity to send a brilliant act straight to the semi-finals at Marina Bay Sands. Those who make it to the semi-finals will contend with an even tougher judge, the AXN audience at home who will ultimately decide the winner of "Asia's Got Talent".

The grand prize is worth USD$100,000 and is complemented with the opportunity to return to Singapore and perform at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, Asia's leading entertainment destination – where the semi-final shows and finale will be held.

"Asia's Got Talent" spans 10 weekly episodes, including five audition episodes, three semi-finals, a finale episode and a results gala.
