The very first Amazing Race Asia started out in Merdeka (Freedom) Square in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ten Teams from all over Asia joined host Allan Wu to get the usual introduction before grabbing their packs and getting on their way. This time around the Teams include: Ernie & Jeena, married for ten years, from the Philippines; Joe Jer & Zabrina, ex-colleagues and friends from Malaysia; Marsio & Mardy, a pair of brothers from Indonesia; Jacqueline & Aubrey, best friends from the Philippines; Sandy & Francesca, dating for one year, from Hong Kong; Andrew & Syeon, together from three years, from Malaysia; Howard & Sahran, friends from ten years from Sri Lanka, Melody & Sharon, friends from Singapore; Laura & Andy, engaged couple, now living in Thailand; and Sahil & Prashant, male models from India.
