A mixture of contestants is chosen for the show, ranging from unknown street dancers to winners of national championships. All contestants have to work their way through a rigorous audition process, and, over the course of the show, are assigned different dance styles and partners each week to test their versatility. Cat Deeley returns as Host. So You Think You Can Dance recently won 2 awards at the 2009 Primetime Emmy® Awards, including one for Outstanding Choreography. It has won a total of 5 Emmy awards.

AXN Dance Showcases!

In conjunction with the premiere of So You Think You Can Dance Season 6 on 25 January,
a series of high-energy, adrenalin-pumping dance showcases were unveiled in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Shoppers had a pleasant weekend treat on the 23rd and 24th of January as they were thoroughly entertained by the lithe dancers, pulling off a variety of dance styles from the hard-hitting beats of hip-hop to the sensuous melody of salsa. The dancers brought out the mesmerising energy of So You Think You Can Dance, infecting the crowd with their boundless energy and enthusiasm.

The dance showcase in Singapore was performed by the iLLers, who wow-ed the crowds at hotspots The Cathay and Cathy Cineleisure Orchard; while New Star Studio showed off their dance moves at One Utama in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and D’South Rotation enthralled all at TriNoma mall in Manila, Philippines. Exclusive So You Think You Can Dance pin badges were also given out to the audience during the performance.
