Semadang Kayak: Challenge Location
Teams kayak down the rugged Semadang River, foraging for natural materials like sand, charcoal and gravel to build their own bio-filter. The challenge? Harness the rainforest’s natural resources to turn muddy river water crystal clear. The winners score a stay at a luxury boutique hotel, while the losers spend the night under the stars.
Sarawak Cultural Village: Challenge Location
Long before it was a modern trend, Sarawak practiced plastic-free, sustainable living. In this challenge, teams must master the "Sibu Handbag"—a traditional heritage skill using newspaper and raffia to securely and comfortably swaddle live chickens. Teams will race across boardwalks to deliver these VIP "clucking accessories" to different longhouses. Will their bundle pass the safety check, or will they be left doing the chicken dance for onlookers? (Episode 1).
Sarawak Cultural Village: Challenge Location
Precision, focus, and a strong stomach are required for this challenge. Divided into a gatherer and a hunter, one teammate must brave harvesting (and potentially consuming!) sago worms to earn ammunition for the other. The designated hunter must then wield a traditional Bidayuh Sumpit (blowpipe) to pop target balloons. Only the team with the truest aim will claim the legendary warrior's mark! (Episode 3).
Kubah Ria Market aka Satok Weekend Market: Challenge Location
Inspired by the Iban Bejalai rite of passage, teams must decode traditional motifs to uncover a hidden ingredient list. Armed with traditional rattan baskets, they must navigate the bustling market to harvest unique Sarawakian produce. The twist? Winners are determined by achieving the ultimate balanced weight on a traditional Daching scale. (Episode 4).
Brooke Dockyard Industrial Heritage Museum
Sarawak's oldest shipyard, transformed into an immersive maritime museum. Highlights include a full-scale replica of the historic HHY Zahora vessel, the Great Gears and Engineers Gallery featuring original 20th-century British machinery, and interactive "Build Your Ship" areas.
Borneo Cultures Museum
It is Malaysia's largest museum. Spread across five floors, it blends ancient indigenous artifacts with 30% interactive exhibits. Highlights include full-sized longhouse replicas, intricate beadwork, Iban textiles, and artifacts chronicling the island’s rich history, ecology, and craftsmanship.
DBKU Cat Museum
The Kuching Cat Museum is a cat museum in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. It was founded in 1993 and it is owned by the Kuching North City Hall, and housed in their headquarters. "Kuching" translates to "cat" in Malay. It is the first museum in the world built to showcase entirely on cats. Visit the DBKU Cat Museum., first of its kind in the world.
Fort Margherita and Astana Palace
Built in 1879 by Charles Brooke, this English-style castle fort was constructed to defend the city against pirates. Today, it functions as a museum detailing the unique history of Sarawak's White Rajahs. The Astana Palace now serves as a residence for the governor of Sarawak.
Kuching Waterfront
Kuching Waterfront is the city’s scenic riverside promenade, stretching along the Sarawak River with views of historic buildings, local landmarks and lively waterfront activity. It’s a great spot to soak up Kuching’s atmosphere, especially around sunset.
Darul Hana Bridge
This striking, 335-meter S-shaped pedestrian bridge spans the Sarawak River. It features two distinct viewing decks and comes alive at night with a vibrant LED light show and an accompanying musical fountain.

Gu Jin at the Sheraton serves up authentic halal Chinese cuisine, with a wide selection of dim sum and specialty dishes for dinner. Beyond the classics, look out for creative dishes like coffee ribs and truffle fried rice.
Topspot Food Court
A no-frills food court serving up affordable, fresh seafood and a range of made-to-order dishes. It’s a great spot for a casual, wallet-friendly meal with plenty of local flavour.
Lepau Restaurant
The environment and ambience are designed to reflect a traditional Kayan "kampung" farm hut, creating a rustic and immersive setting. Lepau means “temporary farm hut” in the Kayan language, giving the place its name and cultural roots.

Known for its modern take on Sarawakian and fusion cuisine, blending traditional local flavours with Western-inspired techniques. Many dishes also spotlight locally sourced ingredients, giving familiar Sarawak flavours a contemporary twist.

Ring Lady: Local Hero
Refers to a small, iconic group of women from the Semban sub-tribe of the Bidayuh people, primarily hailing from Kampung Semban in the Padawan district of Sarawak, Malaysia. The rings are known as "ruyang" (for the forearms) and "rasung" (for the calves). They are typically made of coiled brass or copper. The rings are an aesthetic standard within the Semban community.
Manang The Ritual Master: Episode 1
They serve as intermediaries between the physical world of humans and the supernatural realm of spirits and deities. In our challenge, the winners are awarded the Miring ceremony. The word Miring derives from piring, which means "plates of offerings". It is typically held before important communal activities (such as farming or the harvest festival Gawai Dayak) or after a misfortune/disaster to cleanse a longhouse.
Sibu Chicken Wrap Tradition: Episode 1
Commonly found in Sibu Central Market, which is also the largest wet market in Malaysia, This is a traditional method used by local farmers and traders to keep the chickens calm and secure while they are being displayed or transported. It allows customers to carry the live, fresh chicken away from the market conveniently.
Blowpipe Hunter: Episode 3
The blowpipe—known as the sumpit—is a deeply respected traditional weapon, historically used for hunting and self-defense. Historically, mastery was demonstrated through the ability to hunt canopy animals (like monkeys or birds) with extreme precision from long distances. This requires not only lung capacity and steady aim but also an intimate understanding of jungle ecology and the behavior of prey.
Gawai Parade
Visiting Sarawak during Gawai Dayak (celebrated annually on June 1st and 2nd) is widely considered one of the best ways to experience the state’s authentic cultural heritage. It is a profound harvest festival that serves as a thanksgiving and a time for communal reunions.
